Tyler, The Creator has officially been crowned Apple Music’s Artist of the Year, a nod to the hip-hop auteur’s remarkable influence on music and culture throughout 2025.
Over the past year, Tyler cemented his status as one of the most inventive minds of his generation. Apple Music reports that 2025 marked his strongest year yet across global streams, listeners, and total hours played with fans racking up more than 4.5 billion minutes of listening between November 2024 and October 2025.
The year kicked off with his most daring tour to date, built around CHROMAKOPIA his most intimate album yet, and the biggest Apple Music debut of his career by first-day and first-week numbers. Midway through that whirlwind, Tyler surprised fans again, crafting and releasing a second project, DON’T TAP THE GLASS. The lean, hard-hitting rap record debuted at No. 1 on Apple Music in over 55 countries.
“Tyler continues to prove that anything is possible. His creativity has been incredible all year,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1. “His risk-taking is matched only by the care in how he presents it. He inspires peers and fans now, and he will keep inspiring generations to come.”
“To everyone who listens to my music, thank you,” Tyler shared. “This year has been the biggest of my career. Being Apple Music’s Artist of the Year it’s sick. I appreciate the love and recognition. It means a lot, especially for the kind of music and ideas I make. Keep supporting folks who do things a little differently; it means everything to us.”
