One of the most highly anticipated releases from adidas in 2025 is the Adistar Jellyfish, a new silhouette created in collaboration with Pharrell Williams.
First seen on Pharrell’s feet during the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Adistar Jellyfish is a striking, premium reimagining of the adidas Adistar Cushion 3, a running shoe originally launched in 2005. According to Zac Andrews, former adidas design director, the shoe draws inspiration from the original Adistar’s wind-flow aesthetic. Early design concepts even explored ways to make the shoe expand and contract, mimicking the movement of muscles around bones.
The Adistar Jellyfish features a mesh base with 3D-molded TPU layers across the upper. These raised elements create an exoskeleton-like structure, giving the already bold Adistar an even more dynamic look. Stylized “jellyfish” branding appears on the tongue, along with the word “Virginia,” a tribute to Pharrell’s home state.
The Pharrell x adidas Adistar Jellyfish is set to release in Fall 2025 on adidas.com, CONFIRMED, and at select retailers.
