Alex Iwobi expands his creative lane, stepping into music under the alias 17 with the release of his debut EP, More to Life. The nine-track project signals a shift for the Fulham midfielder, offering a more personal lens on life beyond football—touching on fame, family, and the mental weight that comes with performing at the highest level.
Blending Afrobeats, UK rap, and Afrowave influences, the project features a diverse set of collaborators including Fido, Giddi, SPKS, and fellow footballer Amadou Onana, who appears as 24AM. Together, they shape a sound that feels fluid and exploratory.
Tracks like Track 0 (Freestyle) and Joga Bonito lean into a relaxed, melodic style, while more reflective cuts such as Letter and Double Double unpack themes of pressure, criticism, and mental health—revealing a more introspective side of Iwobi rarely seen on the pitch.
While still evolving sonically, More to Life has been met with early support from fans, highlighting the growing space for athletes to express themselves creatively. For Iwobi, the project isn’t just music—it’s a statement of identity, proving there’s more to his story than football alone.
