Nigerian Afro-fusion star BNXN has officially dropped his long-awaited second studio album, Captain — a 16-track offering now streaming on all major platforms.
The project boasts a stellar lineup of collaborators, including Seyi Vibez, Victony, FOLA, and the legendary Soweto Gospel Choir, blending emotive storytelling with BNXN’s genre-fluid sound.
“This album is everything I’ve been through. It’s the most honest I’ve ever been,” BNXN shares. “I want people to feel every high and every low. This is my story — the story of the captain.”
From the smooth bounce of ‘Cutesy’, to the Victony-assisted ‘Cough Syrup’, and the spiritual textures of ‘Totori’, Captain traverses themes of ambition, vulnerability, and resilience. The sonic palette is expansive, shaped by an international production team including Jiggy (Ice Spice, Cash Cobain), Rymez, Kel P, Synx, Vampire Craze, and Gemini Major.
BNXN’s rollout has been massive, with pre-release singles like ‘Phenomena’, ‘Fi Kan We Kan’ (featuring Rema), ‘Very Soon’ (with FOLA), and ‘Cutesy’ already racking up over 185 million streams. With critics praising the album’s emotional depth and stylistic ambition, Captain is poised to be one of Nigeria’s defining releases of 2025.
To support the album, BNXN will head out on a North American tour beginning August, with shows scheduled in Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and more.
