Marnz Malone has released Yaqeen, the highly anticipated third and final installment of his mixtape trilogy. With a title meaning “belief” or “certainty,” Yaqeen completes a thematic arc that began with Maktub (“it was written”) and continued with Sabr (“patience”). This closing chapter marks a powerful conclusion to the story that started with Marnz’s time behind bars, but ultimately ends with his triumph and freedom.
Reflecting on the trilogy’s significance, Marnz opens up about the personal journey behind the music: “The journey to get here hasn’t been easy to say the least. In the segregation unit of HMP Manchester, I discovered the word Maktub and its meaning, ‘it was written.’ If you know my story, then you understand why it meant so much to me. Then came Sabr (patience). I had no choice but to be patient and wait my turn — not just for the music, but to escape the dark trench I was stuck in. Now, with Yaqeen, I present belief and certainty. I had to believe that one day I would make it here, despite all the odds stacked against me.”
The mixtape features collaborations with some of the industry’s finest, including J Hus, Tunde, Catch, and Canadian artist Bundog. With production from a diverse range of talents such as WNS Beats, Beatsbysav, 1080 Pale, Kyduh, ProdByHal, and more, Yaqeen offers a rich soundscape that perfectly complements Marnz’s journey.
In addition to the mixtape, Marnz has dropped the visuals for “Chy Cartier’s Adlibs,” a high-energy track featuring Tunde, shot against the stunning backdrop of Dubai. The tape also includes the recently released single “Nana’s Veranda,” accompanied by a vibrant music video filmed in Jamaica.
With Yaqeen, Marnz not only closes a chapter of his personal story but signals the start of a new era for his music and career. Listen to the full mixtape below, and watch the video for “Chy Cartier’s Adlibs” now.
