British-Nigerian rap star Dave is set to make a landmark return to his roots with his first-ever headline performances in Nigeria. The award-winning artist will take the stage at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos on October 16 and 17, bringing his globally celebrated The Boy Who Played the Harp tour to its final stop.
Organized by Live Nation and MASSIVE, the concerts mark a major moment for both the artist and Nigerian fans who have followed his rise from South London storyteller to one of the most influential voices in modern rap. The Lagos shows will serve as the grand finale of a world tour that has taken Dave across Europe, North America, and South Africa.
The timing is especially significant as Lagos continues to strengthen its reputation as a global cultural hub. The recently revitalized Wole Soyinka Centre, formerly known as the National Theatre, has once again become a focal point for the city’s creative community, making it a fitting venue for an artist whose work bridges cultures and generations.
For Dave, whose family heritage traces back to Nigeria, the performances carry added meaning. Over the past decade, he has established himself as one of the UK’s most celebrated musicians, earning multiple BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello Award, and chart success that has rewritten British rap history. He remains the only UK rap artist to debut three consecutive studio albums at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.
As one of the most anticipated live events of the year, the Lagos concerts are expected to draw fans from across the continent, highlighting the city’s growing influence on the global entertainment map.
Tickets will first be available through an artist presale beginning June 8 at 10:00 a.m. local time, with general sales opening on June 9 at 10:00 a.m. via Dave’s official website.
