Nigerian rapper, singer, and all-around innovator Blaqbonez returns with his long-awaited fourth studio album, No Excuses — and it’s a fearless leap forward for African hip-hop. Alongside the album’s release, he dropped a cinematic visual for “Consistency” featuring AJ Tracey, directed by DON Prod, seamlessly merging Lagos energy with West London edge.

The 17-track record is a showcase of ambition and range, featuring heavyweights like Pa Salieu, Phyno, Olamide, Bella Shmurda, and Zinoleesky, with production credits from Jae5, Magicsticks, Blaisebeatz, and Black Culture. From the infectious bounce of “Bizzy Body” to the experimental depth of “Aura 4 Aura” with Pa Salieu, Blaqbonez delivers a project that refuses to stay in one lane — a bold, genre-defying statement of intent.

Recorded partly in London, the album mirrors his growing connection to the UK’s music and fashion scenes. Earlier this month, he made headlines as the first Nigerian artist to walk for Vivienne Westwood, while also appearing front row at Vetements, MAINS, and Labrum — affirming his global influence beyond sound.

Born Akumefule Chukwuemeka George, Blaqbonez has carved a lane defined by reinvention and audacity. From his 2023 Headies-winning album Emeka Must Shine to viral hits like “LIKE ICE SPICE” and “NO SLEEP $$$”, he’s consistently blurred the lines between Afrobeats, rap, drill, and alté, crafting a sound that feels both rooted and radical.

With No Excuses, Blaqbonez declares a new creative era — limitless, defiant, and visionary. This isn’t just another album drop; it’s a global statement that Nigerian rap isn’t following trends — it’s setting them.
